When a pet parent has to be away from home, either for a trip or long hours at work, or becomes unable to care for a pet for some other reason, e.g. illness, being able to keep the pet at home, in the environment the pet knows, and being able to follow the pet's routine, are very important to the pet's well-being.

Most pet parents know their pet does not adjust well to a strange environment or a break in routine.

We provide professional pet care in the pet's home with personalized visits from 1 to 4 times a day, any day of the year. We can even stay overnight on occasion.

We provide meals, encourage exercise and playtime, clean up after accidents, administer medication, walk dogs, and provide an array of other pet-care services to suit many needs.

This page outlines some of the benefits and advantages of using our services ... but don't just take our word for it, have a look at some of the testimonials from our many satisfied clients.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS — those that are specific to a service we provide are outlined on the page describing the service.

Your pet will be happy, safe, and comforted

Your pet stays in his/her own familiar, secure environment where all sights, smells and sounds say "Home!" — this means your pet will not be stressed and will eat. It also means your pet will be able to sleep (boarding facilities and kennels are loud places where pets often lack the ability to sleep because of constant noise from other pets).
Customary diet and exercise routines are followed, because an interruption in either or both of these could stress your pet's healthy regiment.
no travel trauma
Driving your vehicle to bring your pet(s) to a boarding facility or a kennel is avoided.
With in-home pet care, the risks of exposure to illness of other animals, e.g. kennel cough or fleas, are eliminated. In addition, medication and medical treatment is provided on time by a professional and qualified sitter.
This free card from Loving Paws & House Sitting lets you notify your Veterinarian that you are using our services, that you authorize us to act as your representative and make decisions in consultation with your Veterinarian to stabilize your pet's health during an emergency, and that the Veterinarian may provide stabilizing treatment up to a dollar amount specified by you on the card.
Your pet can bond with a sitter and receive love and personal attention from him/her.

You will have peace of mind

You won't need to drive your pet(s) to the home of a friend or of another family member, or to a boarding facility or kennel; and you won't need to drive to pick up your pet(s) afterwards. We do the driving!
You won't need to impose on a friend, a family member, or a neighbour to help care for your pet. Instead, you can rely on a dedicated professional whose job it is to give priority to the needs of your pet before anything else.
We are insured & bonded, which means you are covered and protected if something unexpected happens. Also, your home is made more secure since regular visits to your home give it that "lived in" look that deters criminals — a benefit you and your home insurance provider should surely appreciate.
While you are away, you can feel confident that your pet is in capable, qualified caring hands. Our sitters are trained in pet first aid, CPR, and emergency care; they are familiar with the contents of our Emergencies Handbook; and they have regular access to experts with years of experience in the animal health care field.
We offer additional medical care services that friends, neighbours or kennels would not normally provide. And while caring for your pet, we can also  provide many free value-added services like watering your plants and bringing in your mail, newspapers, etc.

Your home will have increased security

We are insured & bonded. Your home will be made more secure against possible crime because our regular visits will make it appear like it is actively "lived in".
Please review our checklist and use it to prepare before your absence from home.
While away, you can feel confident that your home will be less damaged if, for example, a water or gas pipe leaks or bursts. Our sitter's regular visits will ensure ongoing monitoring and inspection of your home's status and any problem will be promptly addressed.
This free card from Loving Paws & House Sitting lets you notify the emergency contact person you identify on our service agreement that you are using our services, that he/she may be called by us in case of emergency, and to notify the sitter or police if he/she becomes aware of anything suspicious in or around your home.
