From Abbie & Bella's pet parents |
|
Oct 2005 ― While we could be accused of displaying a small level of bias when it comes to our view of our adorable two cats, Bella and Abbie, no one can argue at our unconditional love for them or their love for us. It is with this knowledge that it becomes more obvious as to why we just hate to leave them behind when we go away. However, one of the cats simply does not travel well and the other has enough medical needs that it just proves too difficult to bring her along. Still, leaving them behind just forces a lump in our throats. This is where Amy Shannon comes in! |

We were lucky enough to have met Amy Shannon and her husband a few years ago and it didn’t take long to learn that their devotion to their own animals was equally comparable to our own. In addition, Amy Shannon’s love and admiration for animals was also backed by her years of experience working in an animal hospital. With these two critical qualities, it became, for the very first time, an easier decision for us to make when we asked Amy Shannon if she would be kind enough to look after our girls for a week last summer. I felt that if anyone was worthy of spending some time with our cats, she was!
We were absolutely thrilled with how well the girls adapted to her that week and the reasons were obvious. Not only did she do all necessary tasks for them while we were gone (food, water, litter, etc), but she also spent that much needed time you just feel funny asking any old friend to do – that being of course, actually coming over to simply play with them, to bring them up onto your lap for a while and pet them, brush them, and generally do whatever it takes to let them know they can trust you. Now, its such an easy decision for us if we need to leave town – we know that by leaving them in the hands of Amy Shannon, our cats will receive a level of care equal to our own. In fact, I believe they are now even better behaved and co-operative in her care then when they are in ours!!
| Thank you Amy Shannon – and please don’t move away from us! |
