Hello, my name is Kelly.

I joined the Loving Paws & House Sitting team in May 2009.

I am a self-confessed “cat lady” *smile* ... That said, I also love all kinds of animals, especially dogs and rabbits. Let me tell you a bit about myself.

I grew up outside of the Ottawa area in North Gower. Growing up in the country-side with parents who were also animal lovers, I had the opportunity to experience all kinds of pet-related adventures. A favorite story of mine is remembering when our family dog had a litter of puppies on the same day that my sister was born. When we went to see my mom and new sister in the hospital, all I could talk about was the new puppies! 

With respect to caring for pets, I think I experienced it all. I witnessed first-hand the birth of kittens and puppies (and also fish). I nursed many animals and their medical conditions (e.g., sprained ankles, distemper, broken back, hip dysplasia, porcupine and skunk attacks, flea and ticks), and I administered special care to aging animals that had a long, happy life.

My current “fur-babies” are Dexter and Flip. Dexter is a domestic long-hair cat who is a few years old. Dexter “rules the roost” in my home but pays me well with much affection and many cuddles. Flip is also a few years old and is a mini-rex rabbit who acts like a grumpy old man most of the time but has a silly sense of humour and absolutely adores his younger kitty-sister Dexter.

Being an experienced pet parent and animal lover (as well as a home-owner myself), it is a natural progression that I am building a career out of caring for them. Aside from my love of animals and experience in caring for them, I feel I have a lot to offer to other pet parents: a professional attitude, a strong customer service background, a friendly, open and honest personality, and a fine attention to detail.
