Joanne

Hello, my name is Joanne.

In the photo with me is my team mate, love and loyal friend “Chiquita”, an Argentine Thoroughbred Polo Pony.  She plays a very important role in my life - our bond and relationship has changed my life forever.   Chiquita tirelessly continues to be instrumental in helping and guiding me with the game of polo.

I have always had a passion for horses, and believe they are one of nature’s most magnificent creatures.  I have been surrounded by animals all of my life; as a child, for example, my family bred Siamese Blue Point cats and Chihuahuas.  Today, I have the companionship of a wonderful German Shepherd named “Gaston” - rescued from abandonment, and a beautiful Calico cat named “Sassy”.

I have had much experience caring for animals of all kinds and thoroughly enjoyed being able to do so.  I have cared for my friends' farm horses, dogs, cats, and pigs … some of which also required medical attention.

As a person, I am very attentive, patient, calm, compassionate and consider myself to be a very caring individual.  I work extremely well under pressure and in stressful situations.

I have an interest and will pursue training on the "Tellington TTouch", a positive behaviour modification approach that is based on cooperation and respect between human and animals and that promotes healing, training and communicating with animals.  Knowing just a simple circular touch can make a vast difference in a way an animal feels and acts.

I joined the Loving Paws & House Sitting team in July 2006 and have since had the opportunity to meet many wonderful people and their pets.  If you choose to use Loving Paws & House Sitting and I am offered to care for your pet, please know that they will be in very good hands.

I look forward for the opportunity to meet with you and your wonderful pets.

"Joanne was fantastic! ... she was
very professional and friendly.

It's nice to know that the cats were well taken care of (and) that we have
a professional and reliable service to call on when needed. It makes traveling worry-free.
