Hello, my name is Jessica.

I moved back to Ottawa 1 & 1/2 years ago after finally escaping Toronto. I am originally from under the big sky of Saskatchewan. I lived here as a kid and have always had a great love for this city. I am so excited to be back and to be a new member of the Loving Paws & House sitting team.

Soon after our move to Ottawa we discovered I was expecting. I am now mother to a beautiful baby boy. He is the joy of my life and I feel so lucky to have such a happy and healthy little guy. In addition to my work as a fitness instructor, I was looking for a career that would give me the liberty to be at home, which meant I wanted to avoid a typical 9-5 job.

A friend and colleague told me about Loving Paws & House Sitting, knowing I was already doing dog walks and house sitting for friends and family during my free time. And since I am a major animal lover, but with a new son and a small home that does not have enough room for pets - having animals in the house was not an option, I decided that being on the Loving Paws & House Sitting team couldn’t be a better suiting job!

Growing up, my family and I had a wide variety of pets, from birds and bunnies to lizards and dogs. Once on my own, I cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and a variety of small animals, all of which became important members of the family. One of my fondest childhood memories is going up to the barn at my grandparent’s house and finding kittens. When they were old enough we would go back to visit them each week and watch them grow. I’ve had well behaved and challenging animals. Kimik, our mini Samoyed, was by far most challenging. I will always love her dearly, even though I’d come home to torn shoes, eaten garbage, and her enjoying a delicious lunch of hamster shavings!

 I know how much of a family member a pet can be and how important it is that they receive loving care. I assure you that you will be leaving your home knowing it is in good hands. I come from a strong customer service background, am honest, caring, and professional. I look forward to meeting you and your little friends.
