Ottawa - August 4, 2010

Amy Shannon Leclair, President & CEO, LP&HS, with Camelot (left) and SukyLOVING PAWS & HOUSE SITTING – a locally owned company that is one of the region’s largest and most trusted pet/house sitting and dog walking services, is proudly marking 5 successful years in business this August 2010.

Loving Paws is celebrating this milestone by increasing its financial support for the Ottawa Humane Society’s 22nd Wiggle Waggle Walkathon, which takes place this September, and by encouraging its clients to donate to the OHS.

Amy Shannon Leclair, President & CEO, Loving Paws, says, “On the day we opened we decided we needed to raise the bar about what it means to be a professional pet/house sitter and dog walker, and we’ve challenged ourselves about that every day since then. It’s one of the reasons we invest so heavily in everything we do – from building and extensive Website – now one of Canada’s largest pet/house sitting websites where clients can easily find information about how we do business and request our services online 24/7, to recruiting top-notch individuals, to developing professional documents and tools to work with.”

All told, Loving Paws has had tremendous growth and community support since 2005 and is honoured to be able to give back to help pets in need.

Rob McCulloch, Director of Development, OHS, adds, “The Ottawa Humane Society is pleased to once again work with Loving Paws on our 22nd annual Wiggle Waggle Walkathon fundraiser. We are always appreciative of community-minded businesses that support our work caring for Ottawa’s animals.”

Loving Paws was established in 2005 to give pet parents access to Professional Pet/House Sitters and Dog Walkers 365 days a year. By visiting the homes of clients when they leave or are too busy with work, Loving Paws cares for pets where they are most comfortable and safe – in their own homes.

Leclair explains, “The benefits are numerous: pets are less stressed, they follow their routine and diet, they don’t have to adapt to new surroundings, they aren’t exposed to other pets’ illnesses, and they receive lots of TLC from a sitter they get to know and trust.”

Loving Paws has a dozen animal-loving sitters working throughout the region, most of whom have been with the company for years and all of whom work in their own territory. “We owe our success to our team of sitters, and I applaud each of them for their excellent work and continued dedication,” exclaims Leclair.

Loving Paws specialize in giving excellent care to dogs, cats, and all types of small furry, finned or feathered pets. The most popular services include taking dogs out for walks, sitting cats and dogs, and providing post-discharge medical care to most pets – all from a heartfelt friend.

Leclair concludes, “We hope to continue growing by educating pet parents about the benefits of using a Professional Pet/House Sitter and Dog Walker from Loving Paws, and to maintain our support for the OHS!”
