R E M U N E R A T I O N
We offer very competitive remuneration per assignment, and based on
various factors, details of which will be provided to candidates who
meet the basic requirements of the position and demonstrate a genuine

W H O C A N A P P L Y
The position is open to
anyone, however, it would involve less driving time if you live
in or near the communities in which you want to work.
L A N G U A G E P R O F I C I E N C Y
> English (spoken and written) is mandatory in Ontario and Quebec.
> French
(spoken and written) is an asset in Ontario and mandatory in Quebec.
E D U C A T I O N / E X P E R I E N C E
Experience in the animal industry, graduate of
a Veterinarian
Assistant or Technician program, or equivalent is an asset.
O T H E R C O N D I T I O N S
> Must
agree to work on weekends, holidays, evenings,
and
possibly
overnight.
> Must have a reliable
computer at home with Internet access.
> Must have MS Excel and
Outlook (2003 or newer) on home computer.
> Must have an insured and
reliable vehicle.
> Must not have:
- any
past criminal charges or convictions pending criminal investigations
relating to the abuse, neglect, or abandonment of any animal; or
- any
aspect that directly impacts your ability to provide safe care; or
- traffic violations for
which pardon has not been granted.
> Must not have any past criminal charges or convictions or pending
criminal investigations relating to any breach of trust matter, such as
theft of property or fraud.

W O R K E N V I R O N M E N T
As a pet and house
sitting business, LP&HS provides pet and house
sitting services in the homes of its clients. The work environment
requires driving to and from clients' homes.
S U M M A R Y O F D U T I E S
> Maintain complete
and legible records and files in keeping with
LP&HS requirements.
> Attend homes of
LP&HS clients to provide pets with playtime,
give fresh food & water, clean litter boxes, water plants,
administer oral/injectable medications, take out trash,
pickup
mail, walk dogs.
> Collect payments
from clients and remit them to LP&HS.
> Arrange and
undertake
meet &
greet consultations with clients.
> Follow-up with clients.
> Handle keys to clients'
homes.
> Promote LP&HS by
making periodic visits to Veterinarian clinics/hospitals, groomers, pet
shops, and travel agencies.
Q U A L I F I C A T I O N S
> Love for animals.
> Certification in Animal First Aid & CPR (if not certified, LP&HS
provides training and arranges for certification).
> Solid
knowledge of medical topics relating to pet health (LP&HS provides pet
first aid training, certification, and necessary tools).
> Strong knowledge of
and an astute ability to notice changes in pet behaviour.
> Experience as a pet
parent.
> Ability to maintain composure and carry out emergency care
during a possibly stressful, emergency situation.
> Moderate grammatical
and spelling skills.
> Ability to work with little
to no supervision.
> Dependable and
reliable.
> Ability to pay attention to details.
> Strong interpersonal/personable and communication skills, with
ability to interact with tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity.
> Compassionate, positive, and enthusiastic personality.
> Eager to learn.
