(Part-time - may lead to full time with networking)

(Occasional - may lead to full time with networking)

>  KANATA / STITTSVILLE (Occasional)

>  GATINEAU

  R E M U N E R A T I O N

We offer very competitive remuneration per assignment that is based on various factors, details of which are provided to candidates who meet the essential qualifications for the position and who demonstrate a genuine interest to join Loving Paws & House Sitting.   L A N G U A G E S

>  English (spoken and written) is mandatory in Ontario.

>  French (spoken and written) is  mandatory in Quebec.

 

  E D U C A T I O N

>  Graduation from a Veterinarian Assistant or Technician program is a strong asset.

>  Certification in Animal First Aid & CPR (if not certified, you must obtain certification from the earliest available course).

 

  E X P E R I E N CE

>  Experience in the animal industry or equivalent is an asset.

>  Experience as a pet parent.

>  Experience in customer service.

 

  K N O W L E D G E

>  Solid knowledge of daily pet care and some medical topics relating to pet health.

>  Strong knowledge of and an astute ability to notice changes in pet behaviour.

 

  S K I L L S

>  Strong business acumen that translates into an ability to build and maintain your own business as a sub-contractor.

>  Strong ability to work with little to no supervision.

>  Strong ability to pay attention to details.

>  Good interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to interact with tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity.

>  Moderate computer literacy and skills to use a web browser, MS Outlook and MS Excel.

>  Moderate administrative skills.

>  Moderate grammatical and spelling skills.

 

 

  D U T I E S

>  Attend homes of LP&HS clients to provide pets with playtime, give fresh food & water, clean litter boxes, water plants, administer oral/injectable medications, take out trash, pickup mail, walk dogs.

>  Maintain and complete legible records and files in keeping with LP&HS requirements.

>  Collect payments from clients and remit them to LP&HS.

>  Arrange and undertake meet & greet consultations with clients.

>  Communicate with client in persons and by telephone, LP&HS Daily Diary Notes, and emails.

>  Handle keys to clients' homes.

>  Promote services (yours as  sub-contractor of LP&HS) by networking with Veterinarian clinics/hospitals, groomers, pet shops, travel agencies, and other businesses.

>  Complete duties necessary with owning and operating your own sub-contractor business.

>  Complete administrative duties as a sub-contractor of LP&HS.

 

  E S S E N T I A L

>  Must love animals, especially pets.

>  Compassionate, positive, and enthusiastic personality.

>  Eager to learn.

>  Must be dependable and reliable.

>  Must drive an insured and reliable vehicle.

>  Must agree to work on weekends, holidays, evenings, and possibly overnight.

>  Must have a reliable computer at home with Internet access.

>  Must have MS Excel and Outlook (2003 or newer) on home computer.

>  Must provide a "cleared" Criminal Record Check.

>  Must not have:

- any past criminal charges or convictions pending criminal investigations relating to the abuse, neglect, or abandonment of any animal, or any aspect that directly impacts your ability to provide safe care to any animal; or

- traffic violations for which pardon has not been granted.

>  Must not have any past criminal charges or convictions or pending criminal investigations relating to any breach of trust matter, such as theft of property or fraud.

  W O R K   E N V I R O N M E N T

As a pet and house sitting business, LP&HS offers pet and house sitting services in the residences of clients. Working as a sub-contractor of LP&HS environment requires driving to the homes of clients.

The position is open to anyone, however, it would involve less driving time if you live in or near the communities in which you want to work.
